Our Clear View Burglar Bars is an updated security option to steel security bars. Not only are our clear view burglar bars a robust barrier against intruders, but they also will not obstruct your view.
Polycarbonate bars or invisible burglar bars are what clear view bars are also known as. These are all the same product which offer impact resistance and durability. Clear view burglar bars will not snap like Perspex bars as Perspex won't withstand our tough weather.
Polycarbonate is a very light material in weight, and it is extremely durable. The clear view burglar bars are popular choice as they require minimal maintenance (just a simple wipe with a damp cloth or mild soap and water), flexible and they don’t rust.
Our clear burglar bars are the thickest in the industry at 50mm wide and 5mm thick. They are installed into steel tubes bolted into the window reveal space.

- They can withstand very high impact as the clear view bars are manufactured from transparent polycarbonate construct which has a rating of 100.
- The UV-protection on both sides, so the sun won’t cause them discolouration.
- At 50mm wide and 5mm thick, they are among the thickest polycarbonate clear view bars in the industry.
- 5-year guarantee and once off free repair if they have been tampered with.
- Steel tubes are polyester powder coated and available in a range of colours.
- The spacing between the bars only about 100mm (or 150mm from fixing to fixing) to minimise tampering.
What you need to know
- The bars are secured to fully galvanised steel tubes using stainless-steel button-head screws fastened to zinc-plated rivnuts. These steel tubes frame the bars and are bolted securely (using coach screws and UL8 rawl plugs) to the window reveal.
- For further security, a stainless-steel washer, 1.6mm gauge, is placed at each of the fixings, between the domed head of the screw and the bar itself, to reinforce the fixing joint.
- For further strength and protection, galvanised steel parts are used (rust resistant).

ZAsecure’s armed clear view bars are equipped with smart technology that can be connected to a 24/7 active alarm monitoring system. When connected to the alarm system, the polycarbonate burglar bars, which are a physically robust barrier, offer an extra warning system for potential intruders.
The burglar bars include built-in sensors and are made to only trigger during forcible entry or an attempted break-in. The impact will activate the alarm, warning the resident. If connected, the armed response company with then also be alerted that there may be an intruder.
